Excellent program all our students were engaged in each workshop and really enjoyed them. Many thanks to all who took part. The T.V and the media show our young people untrue beliefs of what it is really like in the prisons today. Once again thankyou.

I thought Friday 4th December was fantastic. I hope all the prisoners have a really good life when they are out of jail my personal favorite of the day was the fire bit. I really liked it and how stupid 1 man was ringing the fire department and police as a hoax. Really pathetic your are all great and brilliant thank you for a great day

Thanks for a very interesting , but fun day. We learnt a lot as well as having a laugh throughout the day especially in the street scene. Id like to thank ALL the people that came and made the day as good as it was. It was a brilliant experience and I would LOVE to do it again, Yeah it was annoying when the police wardens were shouting at you but we learnt a lot, and on behalf of year nine I would like to say thank you for an AMAZING fun filled learning experience

When PMNW came to my school on Wednesday 11th November 2009, it was a day that I will never forget. I liked the fact of the six different workshops especially the workshop with the dogs. I also liked listening to Nicki's Story as it gave me an impression of what being in prison is like and the workshop involved with anti-social behaviour. The workshop that involved the police officers about stop and search could have had more interaction between them and us. Apart from that I learnt a lot and that I really enjoyed the day.

We did prison me no way yesterday and it was amazing I think the street scene was one of the best activity and the man and lady who taught us about antisocial behaviour was very very funny and they taught me a lot! Also I really enjoyed going to fire and prison activity I was really shocked to find out how small the cells are! I also like watching the little film in the fire activity! At the end of the day I won a prize for being a ''good prisoner'' its was an amazing day I really really enjoyed it!

Elizabethan High School, Nottinghamshire 4th November 2009
Today was surprisingly fun. All the officers shouting at us was annoying, and missing a break was too, but the day definitely had it's good points. Learnt a lot about life on the inside and prison sentences, so I'd say we all came out of it wiser.
Guess who.
Wakefield City High School 20th October 2009
I think that the day was very fun and needs no improvements. I also think that it was fab and enjoyable. I also have learnt that don’t carry a knife under no circumstances and also don’t hang around in big groups and also don’t act anti social. I feel that I am lucky to have the experience that I had and I feel privileged to have today. Thank you very much

A huge thanks to all prison officers, fire brigade and everyone involved with making our PMNW day very entertaining, I think I speak for the whole of my year group when I say it has been the best day ever, we have learnt a lot. The officers were strict when it came down on uniform but I don’t think anyone cared, we all just wanted to get on with the day and fun. I think everyone has enjoyed them self. Thanks for coming.

Berwick Community High School 16th October 2009
I would like to say thank you to all the prison officers who came to our school to tell us all about being in prison and how to keep out of trouble. I think the bit of the workshop that really inspired me to keep out of trouble was Micheal's story, the fact that one hour of thoughtless drunken behaviour affects your family, friends and also the victims family and friends, really caught my attention. I thought hard about how being in prison would affect all these people, I really wouldn’t like to end up in prison, especially when I seen the cell prisoners have to stay in and found out that there was no privacy at all. The workshop really caught my attention, and I think I speak for all of my classmate when I say that. Thank you to all the Officers who came into our school.

A big thank you to the Prison officers for coming in and telling us about life in prisons and anti-social behaviour. I really enjoyed the talk with the actual prisoners even if I did start to cry when they mentioned their children. I thought the day was very interesting and would love it if you came again.

Wolfreton Lower School 12th October 2009
I think it was a really enjoyable way to show young people to not be in the wrong places at the wrong times , most people just do them stupid things for fun but today I actually thought that people had to think twice about what they are gonna do or what they’ve done in the past . It so good meeting actual prisoners but its so sad to see them telling there life stories and about their families back home.

I think the prison me no way day was very good. The best bit must have been meeting the real prisoners, its strange how nice they are, but there real criminals. I also thought the drug session was very interesting, really puts you off. After seeing the railway protection lesson, I now want to be a forensic photographer, thanks for a good day enjoyed by me and all my friends.

Bitterne Park School, 1st October 2009
The day was really enjoyable. I really enjoyed the different places to go and new things to find out. I thought it was really interesting when Dave spoke to us and told us how he got in to prison in the first place. And that for 2.5hours of stupidity and naievety he got 18 months imprisonment. When we had to go in the mock cell I didn't really enjoy that so much. Thanks for coming.

A huge thank-you to all Prison officers, fire brigade and everyone involved with making our PMNW day very interesting, entertaining and thought channeling. I think I speak for my whole year group when I say it was by far the best school day we've ever had. It was a really shocking insight into some of the severe consequences of criminal offences. The most thought triggering fact for me was the minute line that comes between bad behaviour and prison sentence. The day was realistic and awesome without being scary or upsetting. Once again a huge thank-you and especially for the prison officers who made the long hauls from Sunderland and Lancashire

Today was a unforgettable day. All the staff and police that took the time to prepare the event for the unforgettable day that we all had. It was so much fun and the singer at the end was really good. We will never forget it and it has been so much fun. It was to bad that we couldn’t go into the portable police cell because of the load of tutors that they had to fit in, in the small amount of time for the day. Even though our group were not able to do all the activities we still really enjoyed the day To make the day better they could try and put the workshop over 2 days so they can let all the tutor's / groups get to do all the activities. The 2 actual prison people Ben and Karl were really confident about talking about there self and gave some good advice, also what they did ect in front of staff and students. Thank you for a day to remember!.

It was a fun day, it shows you what right and wrong really is and we learnt "schedule 1" and we also did some role play. They were strict at times especially when it came to school uniform, the majority of the prison guards where nice and one of them was extremely funny. Overall it was a good day and fun at the same time i enjoyed every second of it

Today was brilliant, i really enjoyed it, the best bit was where we got to interact with the prisoners and they told us about their lives and it was quite emotional to listen to their stories and how they have never seen their children before. It was a really good day, and will probably never forget it. ThankYou!!

The day was brilliant. I learnt so much about what prisons are really like and how you can end up in a cell just by saying or doing the wrong thing. The best part was The inmate James, who came in and told us about how he ended up behind bars. It was a very interesting, thought-provoking day. I will probably never forget the day for the rest of my life. Thanks!

The prison me no-way experience for me wass really good. It shown us what we good do good points and bad points. but they didnt preach us like other people do ¬_¬ they gave us our own choice in what we want to do but its us whos gonna suffer if we make the wrong choice no one else. this really brightened up my head, and taught me not to get into gangs or trouble the ending bit with the little disco thing was good aswell :] ilove it

Today HIgham Lane had an immense day learning about all the information needed for us to keep others and ourselves safe. and we learned about the consequences of our actions or stupid moments without thinking. we also enjoyed the court and the play where they allowed students to perform aswell,, It was very good how they make it interactive and fun yet they still show the serious side of things such as the video on road safety. Thank you for coming to see us especially when you are off work, it is admirable. Thank youu! x x x

Hey!!! Just like to say today was absolute brillient. I never actually knew what it was like in a prison untill today. I would so hate to be in a prison cell its so small and hot!!! It felt really nasty and horrible. Not nice at all. But i really enjoyed it as it opened my eyes as to what its really like for people who get put into prison. Another activity i liked was the anti - social behaviour activity. The people that got chosen to do to acting were fantastic and it was a real laugh to watch. In the whole day i learnt something new and it was a really great experience. Thanx for coming you guys!!

I loved the Prison Me No Way day at lower school in Richmond. It really puts the point across about the whole prison and crime thing. At times I was fascinated by the imformation that they gave but I will admit that I got rather scared when I went in the cell/van because it was so realistic. Overall though it was a great day and I think everybody can learn something from it. Laura x

The Gateway Academy 25th June 2009
I really enjoyed the day. I learnt a lot and it really made me think about prison. I enjoyed all of the sessions, but the dog display and the dog session was my favourite. I have never thought about that as a carrer, but seeing what they do, and what they go through with the dogs, it made me re-think what i want to be when i am older. I absolutley loved the day and would love to do it all over again. When we went into the 'prison cell' it was so cramped and hot. There was not a lot of room and it made me think what they go through. Me and the rest of the year 8's learnt a lot. It was a fabulous day. I enjoyed it a lot.

I think it was realy useful and if they keep this up then i realy think we will be looking at a better England well aswell as the reast of the world. This is a very good opertunity to teach young teenagers what can happen the best part was when we wass all in the hall at the end resiveing gifts well the people who's name's were palled out of the bag. The whole class was intubuting no 1 got told off (or arrested). I would reccommend this to any school and every school.

i thought it was excellent and i really enjoyed the day! Me and all my friends thought the day was brilliant and it made us far more aware of the choices we make, we also agreed that it was very useful learning the complete truth as the image the media gives is inaccurate. we will always renember the day and how much it made us think. the only thing we would improve would be the magastrates lesson, as we all agreed it would have been even more fun and engaging if we were able to act out a court case and see if our decisions were correct ect: overall the day was brilliant! thank you so much! 9/10

We really enjoyed the day and found it incredibley informative. We found that you were really in character and produced a really fun day for us all. The drama role play was probably the most fun activity of the day as we had to interact with eachother, work together and be set in someone elses eyes. It definatley made us realise that doing stupid things and behaving in a BAD manner, isn't the right thing. We also learnt alot from the guards as they told us interesting information and also showed us to get us interacting and working as teams. As well as this we enjoyed learning about police watch dogs and found Victor, dennis's dog, incredibly cute. Thankyou so much for coming to our school, we definatley appreciate you coming, especially as volunteers. : )

I really enjoyed the day and each workshop was very interesting, I also liked the fire and red cross areas. There's a good balance of hands on work aswell as discussions and I think everyone found it easy to join in The drama my form got to see made me laugh quite a lot and it was fun, but I believe the message sunk in so much clearer when things are put in a fun and friendly enviroment. Plus, the clips about knife crime and things were very useful, I think you really have to see with your eyes what's happening to truely understand the seriousness of some things. The only suggestion I'd have is to have open discussions about whichever topic and to share stories and things. I loved the day. 9/10

I had a really good day, you learn so much in one day about prison, how to be safe and the concequences. I really enjoyed looking in the van with the cell in and the drama play (which was very funny). When the real prisoners came in and told what it is really like in prison, it is a real eye opener. The day was really intresting in my view and i really enjoyed it! Some of the things shocked me a lot, but it has really made clear to everyone in my year group the consiquences of actions taken. I couldn't believe that only 2 mph over a speed limit can kill someone, i make my parents drive extremley carefully now. I thought the cell was a real 'eye-opener' which makes us think about exactly what people have to live in, and it makes us feel really fortunate to live happy and fullfilling lives. Some of the students are still in shock of what they have seen on the video clips and also what you have said it has really got into our heads not to play with the law everybody is talking about it and passing what they have learnt on to there friends and family i have certainly everybody that i know and they are shocked at what can happen well thanks again for that great day that you have gave us. Thanks xx

The PMNW day was really good. As we didn't know what it was going to be about until we got there, it was really good (Y') The images and videos we were shown actually shocked me, but it has taught me and my year group alot. I couldn't believe the state of the prison cell you'd have to leave it-YUCK! I didn't like the vide in astra police of the baby- i cried and left the room. it shocked me so much, and it just hit me like a brick. I have learnt alot more during this day then what you will ever see on things like THe Bill or And other soap. Thank-you so much

This was great. I learnt so much today , like the effects of what your careless actions can do. And the type of actions that can change everything. I didnt realise that some things that i can do can be classed as disorderly behaviour, i was really shoked. And i have already had ago at me dad warning him not to go over speed limit by even a bit.

Thank you everyone to Prison Me no Way!!! I would like to say thank you for coming WE ALL enjoyed it all the acting was pretty funny The prison cell HATED But good fun i think the Fire People really got the point across to us all. Some i think made us really think about our action like the man who crashed his car into the house by rage and killed his family. Final the prison all made us think that after all prison isnt a good think to be in and it isnt like it is on T.V And Thank you For Coming

Thank you for giving these children and myself a great and rewarding day - one I am sure they will never forget. I helped out in the SPODA workshop regarding the effects drugs have on families. The pupils were brilliant fully attentive, very polite and very keen to learn - An absolute pleasure to be with. the school should be proud to have developed such talented adults of the future. People often say bad things about teenagers but my experience here gave a very different picture. Keep up the good work - I hope to get the chance to be further involved in the project when you are next in Derbyshire

Dear Pmnw, I just want to say ho much I enjoyed the day you spent with us on April 21st 09! We have had many a PSHE day to do with dicapline and the like but never have I got so much out of one! And I think I can speak for many of my fellow pupils also. I found the custems and prison rights very interesting and I think what you do is an exelent way of teaching people not only what the conserquesncs of crime are, but what is classed as crime as well. A big thanks from Me and My Family!

Dear Everyone at Prison Me No Way!!! I would just like to thankyou for the wounderful experience you gave me and the rest of the school on the 26th of March when you visited our school. I found the whole day interesting, exciting and most of all fun. It gave a really good insight into prison life and the power drugs can have on a whole family. Overall i thought that PMNW was a clever organisation which really achieves the aim in showing the consequences and realitys of prison life. I think all of the peopple involved do a fantastic job really adding to the overal feel of the day. Thank you again for a great day = ]

I found the day amazing, it was fun and the team were helpful. I loved the street scene as it was active, and a laugh. I learnt that other people can be prosecuted when being with someone who's acting anti-social. We learnt how to save someones life in the ambulance workshop. And the prision workshop made me never want to go to prision as the room was disgusting and the things people do just to bring in money, mobiles, or drugs. I would recommend the day !!!

Hey, i loved thursday it was soo fun. It was interesting to learn how the prisoners live in prison. I think i liked oli the most he was really funny. The cells were awful they stunk. It was upseting when the fire department told us about that 18 month baby and the man who lost his wife and kids over his face. i liked the street scene best because it was funny but serious. Things like that do happen and i understand that. You have changed the way of some people including me in year 8. Fires murder and rape ect are all serious and they get you into jail. It was interesting also when we talked to the prisoners them selfs. I feel sorry for them all because they have lost there parents been by there side but i also think they desuve it. Some times it is the best thing for them. I played a part in the cort. I thought mr. bear was guilty Ha Ha!
Thank you for everything from Taome P.S Give Oli a pay rise

The day was brilliantly organised and totally absorbing from beginning to end. The pupils at school and the school staff that sat in on the workshops were totally bowled over by the presentations. The message that we all have choices and responsibility for ourselves was very powerfully transmitted, as was the message that anyone can make wrong choices that can have catastrophic consequences for them and their families. We thought the day so worthwhile that our head has already booked the day again for next year.

The fire workshop made me really sad, but the rest was great and very informative! It was pretty freaky looking in the prison cell and has defonately put me off getting arrested (not that I would commit a crime!) Please come again as I think future year groups will enjoy this as much as we did. Thanks

It was an awesome day, definetely more than what i expected! It gave a lot of insight into prison life and how its so easy to go to prison even if your innocent, its definetely put a new light on what prison is actually like and made me want to make the right choices. The real life stories were amazing and the 3 women who came in to tell their stories were unbelievable, it certainly made me realise how easy it is to get mixed in with the wrong people. I would like to thank the prison officers and everyone who worked really hard into making this a brillant day for everyone. Thanks!!

hiya you came to my school on tuesday the 10th march 2009. the day was scary and the prison wardens shouted at us a lot 4 nothing. i would have prefered it if you made it fun and interesting not scary and intimidating. there are ways you could of showed us what life is like in prison without having a go at us.

I enjoyed the crime and safety awareness day. I didn't know what life was like inside a prison before Prison Me No Way came in. The activities were intresting, you learn a lot. It makes you think twice before you commit a crime.

Last thursday you held a crime day at out school and i thought it was great, we learnt a lot from all of the workshops && found it very interesting, no one wants to get put in prison after finding out what its actually like for real, other than just watching an episode of 'Bad Girls' on TV. The reward thing at the end was great && the singer was amazing, Thank you for coming to our school, we all had fun and also learnt a lot of facts about crime and prison that we hadnt known before, we all had a great day and hope you continue coming to our school every year.

Hello. First of all i'd like to give you a big thankyou for today, i really enjoyed it & i didn't think i would after hearing rumours about crawling on floors and running around the fields, But they arn't true. Today made me think about how many situations and crime people are in...seeing the 3 women prisoners you sent in today made me feel a little emotional even though they may of got themselves to where they are now. I really liked it when you got the sniffa dogs in...they are so cute :) I liked everything really, but the best things was sitting in the smelly cell & listening to everyone moaning how it smells HaHa. I'd like to thankyou again to everyone who came to Ellis Guilford & to especially come to us & go through everything you have to go through with prisoners (ect) I feel like going through the whole day again (thats how good it was) & Just to top it off i won a box of celebrations & a good laugh, so thankyou again & the school will be going on about today for days (HaHa) Thankyou so much for taking out your time for Ellis Guilford

It was an extremely fun day! We all loved every bit of it. I learned so much about the prisions and life in them I also thought that the 3 prisoners that came in were very brilliant. I felt so sad listening to their stories about how they got in a what they did in the jail cells. The whole day was filled with excitement and I even got scared for when they shouted at people for putting their hands in their pockets, (you would be accused of hiding a weapon.) It was all very interesting and fun. I even got a prize (big box of malteasers, YUM!) at the end for my letter that i had to write to someone in one of the prisons called Rachel. Over all it was a brilliant day with some very fun characters, one that wanted his teddy bear back when someone took at a prize and the same person that acted like a drunk on the stage. I wish they could come back again and i advise people to get them to come to your school. It was BRILLIANT. Thanks again

The day was very interesting and tought us alot about prisons and crime. We had fun in all of the activities and being prisoners felt great, although we were relieved to be released. It was funny before lunch as we had to walk around our school tennis courts quietly until we were released on probation for lunch. The inside of a prison cell is terrible and none of us want to be arrested, even just for one night. WARNING: To those students who have mobiles, TURN THEM OFF! A cool handheld machine tracks down mobile phones that are turned on and they will be confiscated. Do not put your hands in your pockets as you will be accused of carrying a weapon. The day was great and we all had fun throughout the day. Thank you for coming to our school and please come again for future year groups. :-> Daniel

Hello, thanks so much for today I had a very enjoyable day and I was going to be at home indoors as I am ill ,but I wanted to come into school today as I knew it will be fun , and I was totally right :) The whole day made me realise how much I would suffer and hate the experience of being in prison. I would never dream of getting in trouble anyway, but even more so knowing what it would be like to be imprisoned, with no mobile phones, no lap top! arghh! Thank you for the experience of you coming to my school.I learnt a lot and really enjoyed it too. Charlotte

hi i thought prison me no way was great it really gave me an understanding of how prison works i loved all the worksops. katy
firstly id like to thank you for coming to my school and give me an insite of what its like being a prisoner esspecially the smelly cramped cell in th van. the travelling van you trnasport prisoners.the drug session was very fascinating. the car accident story was extremly realistic andf i enjoyed watching the car gamethe 2 prisoners seemed to be a bit fake because of there boots and clean hair and fake nails, doesnt seem like they came from jail at all and they wern't in chains so they could just walk out but in all i enjoyed the experiance.
chloe
I think the prison me no way is a great opertuntie to see how it would be like to be a prisioner before its to late and become one. I liked the way they treated my year as if we were real prisinors that had commited crimes. I also liked how you brought real prisioners into see us and tell us whats its like to live in a cell and how they live while they are in prison. I really enjoyed being a prisioner for the day but the things i have seen while ive been doing prision me no way has showed me how bad it would be being in a prision has put me off doing any thing bad. Thank You
When you worked with the year 8's at our school Monday 10th November, I thought it would just be a regular day but it was so much more! I had a really good time learning about what life is like in prison and doing all the different workshops. I would LOVE to do this again some time! thankyou for making our day exciting! Hollie :)
it was so cool it make us all understand what life in prison ment and how all the prisoners feel.the best part was talking to the two convics. at first i didnt think that they were really convics but then i asked one of the officers and they said "yes they are really convics" i was so suprised and i would just like to say thankyou from all my school and staff including mrs kate reid connor

Thank'You For Such A Good And Fun Day, It Was A Very Good Excperience And Learnt Me Alot About Life In Prision, I Thought It Was Realy Intresting, Also Thank'Yu For The Singer At The End And The Prizes For Participating. Hope To See You Again Soon. Kaylea
I think that yesterday was good and maked me think i am never going to prison . The best part of the day when we went in to the cell and at the end of the day when the singer sang to us and writing a letter to rachel and watchin police man with the beard dancing. I did not like it when we had to walk around the yard and staying in at break. I really enjoyed the day and i would like if you come back and did it again. thanks for the great day from emma
Hi, Yesterday was great, i enjoyed it loads. It felt very realistic aswell, it made me feel like i was a real criminal-But it was fun. The best thing about the day was seeing the prison cell and the ending was great to. I also liked the exercise - Not having my hands in my pockets i thought was quite hard. One thing i was dissapointed about was not seeing the dogs, But they had to do their job so... But overal i thought it was a great day and everyone had a good time. Also we missed lessons YEY! BRY
Thank you for a very interesting and exciting day! it was great to find out what it is really like in prison and i am very glad that i got the opportunity to take part in this great experience, it has given me a view on prison life and i hope that many others get given the opportunity to take part. i really enjoyed listening to storys on prison life and it was good see what actually happens when you go to prison.i also found that talking to actual prisoners gave me a better view on what life is like in prison. amy
Heya I'm just writing to thank you for all your hard work and for giving me the opportunity to experience first hand what a real prison is like for young people like myself. The experience was the best of my life and i will remember it for the rest of my life. I especially liked the story from Carmel Donnely about her own son who was killed in a joyriding accident. It was really touching and moved everyone in my class. I enjoyed every aspect of the experience and hope to see you all soon in school that is not in prison. I was also in Neil Preston's group that day and it was the best, especially as we won the prize for best wing. Although I think this was down to the fact that he was going on about it all day saying thta the last day he was robbed of the prize. Thank-you once again. Fiona
Hiya my names emily and you came to my school last week and i thought the day was fantastic scary but good fun. hehe. I think its good what you do , you make people realise how hard it is to live in prison and how easy you could end up there . Thanks for coming you helped me a lot. Emily
