We befriend people and offer advice and support with everyday needs like housing,
benefits, criminal justice, education, training and employment
We support people serving community sentences and those on drug or alcohol programmes

How we work
When we receive a referral we will organise a 3 way meeting between yourself, the
person who referred u and the UChoose worker
We sign an agreement setting out what we will work on and agree to exchange appropriate information
We will meet regularly and arrange appointments with u as appropriate to your needs
We will make an assessment of your needs, decide on some clear targets and support u to achieve them
We will regularly discuss your progress with u and the person who referred you
What u can expect from us
We are non judgmental – your future is more important to us than your past
We are person centred – everyone’s needs are different
We will help u identify your support needs
We will broker specialist services
We will see u at least once a week
We will keep in touch and u can contact us on our 24 hour helpline
We will develop coping strategies to help u make positive progress with your welfare, lifestyle, relationships, education, training, employment, finances
We will establish a sense of community and commitment to positive achievement
We will help with completion of applications forms e.g. housing, benefits, employment
We will support u in developing strategies to combat boredom and peer pressure
We will support u to initial appointments, meetings or interviews
What we expect from u
U are expected to turn up to appointments and to let us know if you cannot attend
The relationship between yourself and the UChoose worker will remain professional and respectful at all times
We expect u not to use language that is in any way offensive, or make remarks and comments that are sexist, racist, homophobic or that relate to equality, disability or age
We expect u with support to become confident and competent to do things yourself
We expect you to set and achieve realistic goals
