17th January 2017 saw the first Crime & Safety Awareness Day at Newlands Schoool for Girls

The 17th January 2017 saw the PMNW team and supporting agencies once again visit the year 8 students at Newland Girls school.

My thanks must go to the following PMNW staff and volunteers.

  1. Barrie, Linda and Malc for helping-out behind the scenes.
  2. Kath and Ollie presented the Street Life workshop.
  3. Paul, Simon and Clifton facilitated the Prison Life workshop which included a trip to the cell van.
  4. Graham brought along the ladies from Askham Grange to present their emotive Choices workshop.
  5. My thanks must go to Leslie and her Magistrates colleagues for bringing their Magistrates court into the school.
  6. Joanne Mankel, Alan and Joanne Mossop presented the Fire and Rescue workshop.
  7. Thanks to Sally, Margaret and Jackie for their Victim Support workshop.
  8. British Red Cross came into the school in the guise of Emma Kinnaird who brought along Annie to practice resuscitation on.
  9. The YAG team were also in attendance.

A very special presentation was made to Bob Brown upon his retirement from the Trust.  He attended with his wife Jan and Paul Wilkinson CEO of the Trust presented Bob with his well-deserved award.  There was a lot of ‘awwwwws’ from the Newland pupils!

I’m sure that both Bob and Jan will enjoy a long and happy retirement together, you will be very much missed by us all.
