Crime and Safety Awareness Day – Secondary School

Multi-agency Crime and Safety Awareness Days

high impact workshops, role plays, drama, and even entertainment

Crime & Safety Awareness Days (CSAD) are aimed at secondary schools and are delivered to a full year group, audiences usually range from year 8 to year 10 pupils, and show factually the possible consequences of becoming involved in antisocial or criminal behaviour. Students are encouraged to participate in role play as prisoners which will include certain restrictions and disciplines

CSAD! have a wide variety of workshops, which are evolving all the time. These include:

Antisocial behaviour

Knife crime

Cell Van

Drug Awareness

These days are supported by volunteer staff from the Prison service and work in conjunction with our important partner agencies delivering a wide range of workshops such as:

St. John

Victim Support

Not only does the day dispel any myths about prison life and criminality it also gives students the right information for them to make an informed choice when confronted with difficult decisions as they go through an ever increasingly complicated period of their lives. These days encourage participants to respect the value of their freedom while experiencing the restrictive regimes of a real day in the life of an offender first hand.

Innovative, interactive and thought-provoking, the Crime and Safety Awareness Days leave a great impression on pupils.
