London Crime Days
Week commencing 14th March saw the PMNW team travel to London to facilitate three Crime and Safety Awareness Days.
The 14th saw the team go into Hurlingham Academy followed by on the 15th going into Fulham Cross Girls school. We finished on the 16th with a trip to Fulham Boys school.
A very enjoyable three days was had by all staff and pupils concerned.
I would like to thank all the agencies who supported us over the three days. These being SCO19 hosted by Andy Hopton, London Fire and Rescue hosted by Matt Wainwright and his colleagues and Sam Postance, Kevin Smith and Ray Hayes from the Metropolitan Police Service.
Fulham Cross Girls school were lucky enough to see the workshop of Marc Vincent, Prison Search dog handler and his two dogs Alfie and Kiah. He was ably assisted by Jo.
The PMNW team consisted of Ollie and Kath on Confrontation Street and Anthony on his Choices and Consequences workshop.
Malc facilitated his Split Second workshop along with Steve at Hurlingham Academy.
The Prison Life workshop was facilitated by Malc, Dave and Paul over the three days.
Greg and Scott brought their Tagging equipment along to Hurlingham so as to give the pupils a taste of what it would be like if they put on a tag and had to follow a curfew.
Graham and two girls from Askham made the long train journey to give the girls at Fulham Cross the usual excellent insight into choices and consequences. Always a favourite with pupils and teaching staff alike.
As already mentioned Jo and Dave visited us from Jersey Police. They both had an enjoyable three days with us all. Getting stuck into and witnessing various workshops over the three days. I am sure they will have taken some new ideas back over to Jersey.
Thanks to Linda for supporting me, as ever behind the scenes at Hurlingham and Fulham Cross and to Jo who did the same at Fulham boys
Thanks to all pupils and staff at all three schools.
We certainly look forward to returning in 2017.
