pmnw brings real talk to st angela’s ursuline school
The PMNW team recently paid a powerful visit to St Angela’s Ursuline School, an all-girls secondary in East London, to deliver a hard-hitting, eye-opening day of sessions around choices, consequences, and staying safe in a fast-moving world.
Throughout the day, our team ran a series of impactful workshops designed to educate, empower, and equip students with the knowledge to navigate tricky situations they may encounter in life — all while keeping it real and interactive.
One of the standout moments came from our guest speaker: a brave, inspiring woman who shared her raw and unfiltered journey through the prison system. Speaking candidly about the mistakes she made, the reasons behind her sentence, and how she’s turned her life around, she offered students a rare chance to learn from real experience — not just theory. Her message? Choices matter, and the wrong ones can change everything.
We also brought along our Prison Workshop, led by a retired prison officer with decades of experience behind the gates. Students had the chance to ask questions about life inside and explore our mock prison cell setup — a sobering visual reminder of where certain choices can lead.
Our Drugs Awareness Session went hands-on, giving students the chance to experience drug and alcohol impairment safely using simulation goggles. Combined with discussions around County Lines and peer pressure, the session helped students see how quickly risky behaviour can spiral — and how to avoid getting caught up in it.
Throughout the day, we were proud to be supported by Network Rail and SC019, ensuring that our sessions were informed, collaborative, and relevant to the world young people are growing up in today.
Massive respect to the students of St Angela’s for engaging so maturely with everything we brought — asking questions, getting involved, and showing serious curiosity and self-awareness. It’s clear this generation of young women are more than capable of making smart, strong, empowered choices.
