PMNW Charity Fundraiser – An Evening with Howard Webb and Anthony Taylor!

On the 8th May 2014 a small team of charity workers from Prison Me No Way! descended upon the mighty KC stadium in Hull for a fundraising evening. This was the first time the team had ever delivered such an event and they were excited at how the evening would go and how successful it would be…. The aim of the night was to raise funds for 4 charities:

Invited guests (163 in total) started to arrive around 6.45pm including the patrons Howard Webb (World Cup Final, Brazil World Cup, Premier League and FIFA Referee), Anthony Taylor (Premier League, FIFA Referee), and the host and Ambassador for Prison Me No Way! Lady Edwina Grosvenor.

Sponsors of the evening were Redsky, Printing.com Hull and Les Stubbs Photography.

Guests were met with a warm welcome and a complimentary drink, they were then shown where they were seated. Entertainment was provided throughout the evening by a few fabulous young students from the local School, Hessle High, starting with a duo called Troubadour, a strong vocalist Jacob Drury and a beautiful singer Amy Crabtree.

 Lady Edwina Grosvenor introduced the evenings procedures highlighting the fund raising games and opened the Silent Auction. The evening got off to a great start with a few songs from Troubadour.

During the evening meal courses the PMNW team began to sell the extra games on the night and through the generosity of the guests successfully raised £1325.00.

Howard, Anthony and Edwina each gave an introduction for their chosen other charities and a short video was played introducing each charity including Prison Me No Way!

Howard and Anthony then gave an amusing and entertaining speech about their highs and lows in their referee roles from around the world. Guests were delighted and able to ask questions at the end the end of their talk.

After much fun and laughter Edwina then announced that the silent auction had closed. Howard, Anthony and Edwina then had their photos taken with guests and signed autographs. The evening then drew to a close.

The final figure from the fund raising event based on donations, games, auction and tickets sales helped raised an amazing £6006.68.

These funds will be split equally between the 4 charities.
