The day opened in the gym in front of 200 excited if a little apprehensive year 9 pupils. After showing our two new dvds the pupils were discharged to their respective workshops.

I would like to thank the following agencies who once again supported a very successful day: Julie from St. John Ambulance along with Annie.

Dusty from EMS, ably assisted by Melody. Graham and the girls from HMP Askham put on their ever emotive Choices workshop.  Always a favorite with the students. Thanks to Celia, Graham, Ray and Robin who once again moved their Magistrate court into the school.  Leigh, Barrie and Tony facilitated the Prison Life workshop.  However due to the cell van being unavailable they used the Prison Cell mat.  Something a little different for the pupils to see.  Kath and Ollie put on their Street Scene workshop.  Thanks also to all the students who acted out various characters throughout the day.

A new initiative for me in the Hull and East Riding Schools was the Fire and Rescue workshop facilitated by Jo, thank you to Humberside Fire and Rescue – The feedback from the teachers and pupils was positive.

As always my thanks goes to Linda for supporting me on the day as well as Simon who was my number 2.  Fiona and Abigail from the PMNW YAG team were in attendance for the day also.

Thanks to Adam Rust for organising the day within the school.  All in all a great day had by all.

I hope that we can all return next year.
