Furze Platt School: A Powerful Day of Real-Life Learning
Prison Me? No Way! recently delivered a full day of impactful sessions at Furze Platt School, giving students a raw and honest look at the realities of crime, risk, and personal responsibility.
Across the day, students engaged with a wide range of challenging topics — from domestic abuse and decision-making to the real consequences of drug trafficking, violence, and prison. Every session was designed to inform, empower, and spark conversation.
🚀 LAUNCH – Setting the Tone
The day began with our LAUNCH session — a fast-paced introduction designed to grab attention and prepare students for the serious conversations ahead. It laid out key themes of choices, consequences, and the importance of staying informed.
🏚️ Domestic Abuse – Understanding the Signs
In our session on Domestic Abuse, students explored how abuse can start subtly, often in teenage relationships. We covered emotional control, manipulation, and the difference between healthy and unhealthy dynamics. Many students left with a clearer sense of what respectful relationships look like — and what red flags to watch for.
🎭 Choices – Small Decisions, Big Consequences
This session focused on the ripple effect of our actions. We showed how one split-second decision can lead to long-term consequences. The goal: equip students with the critical thinking skills to pause, reflect, and choose differently.
🚨 County Lines – The Reality Behind the Headlines
We explored the grooming tactics used by gangs to recruit young people into County Lines operations. Students learned how easily vulnerability can be exploited, and how “fast money” often comes with long-term risks.
🔒 Prison – Beyond the Stereotypes
Our core Prison sessions brought the stark realities of incarceration to life. Students heard about daily life inside, the psychological impact, and the long-term consequences of a criminal record.
👊 One Punch – One Moment, A Lifetime Changed
Our One Punch session delivered a sobering reminder of how one impulsive act can end a life — and change another forever. Students reflected on anger, alcohol, and how one moment of violence can result in tragedy, prison, and lifelong regret.
A Day to Remember
The students at Furze Platt were engaged, thoughtful, and open to learning. Many left with a completely new perspective on the risks they or their peers could face — and the power of making informed, confident decisions.
At PMNW, our mission is simple: to educate, empower, and prevent.
Furze Platt reminded us why this work matters — and why early intervention and open conversation are key.
