PMNW at Sirius North Academy: Real Issues, Real Voices
PMNW were proud to deliver a powerful day of education and engagement at Sirius North Academy, working with young people to tackle the real-world challenges they may face as they grow up.
The day featured a mix of external partners and our own PMNW team, each leading impactful sessions designed to build awareness, confidence, and better decision-making.
External Partner Sessions:
British Red Cross (First Aid) – giving students vital skills to help themselves and others in emergencies.
Rail Safety – raising awareness around dangers near train tracks and how to stay safe around railways.
Road Safety – helping students understand their responsibilities and risks on the road, whether as passengers, pedestrians, or future drivers.
Northern Powergrid (NPG) – delivering eye-opening insights into electrical safety and staying alert around power lines and substations.
PMNW-Led Sessions:
Prison Life – a raw, honest look into the reality of life behind bars, including a guest talk from a former prisoner.
Choices – exploring the ripple effects of our decisions, and how small actions can lead to big consequences.
Knife Crime & County Lines – uncovering the risks and dangers of gang involvement, exploitation, and youth violence.
The students responded with energy, respect, and curiosity—asking brave questions and engaging in some truly meaningful discussions. From serious talks about crime to hands-on first aid skills, it was a day full of growth and reflection.
Massive thanks to the Sirius North team for hosting, and to the young people for showing up, listening, and making their voices heard. The future is brighter when we face the hard stuff together.
